 Salary will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

        This position functions as a Flooring /Tile Layer and General Maintenance Worker. 

        Work is performed under the general supervisor of the Carpentry Foreman and PM Crew Leader.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

        Minimum Education:

             A high school diploma or GED preferred

 

        Certification / License:

             Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s license

 

        Special Knowledge/Skills:

             Must be able to read and communicate in English, and follow all written and verbal

             work assignments, and able to read all inter-office correspondence.

             Must be able to perform basic computer tasks.

             Must be able to demonstrate general knowledge associated with given craft and ability

             to operate tools (hand and power) in a safe and efficient manner.

             Must be able to remove and replace VCT, LVT Ceramic Tile and Carpet squares, as

             well as repair building structures and equipment.

             General knowledge of the Maintenance Department’s organization and operation.

             Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.

             Must have demonstrated organizational, communication, customer service, and

             interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.

 

        Work Conditions:

             Mental Demands:

                  Frequent changes in tasks and Perform manual labor.

                  Irregular work hours / schedule:  School Year hours:  3:30pm to 11:30pm / School

                  holiday’s & Breaks: 7:00am to 3:30pm

 

             Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

                   Must be able to work in all weather conditions, both day and night.

                   Some exposure to hazardous chemicals/fuels

                   High noise level exposure is frequent

                   Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25

                   pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to repair

                   and/or move equipment and objects.

                   Position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and moving of objects.

                   Regular attendance is an essential function.

               

         Minimum Experience:

              1-year experience in maintenance or related field is preferred.

                               

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Perform daily inspection, cleaning and security of assigned supplies and equipment.
  2. Report maintenance of tools and equipment and make recommendations of needed supplies to Foreman.
  3. Assist with other duties, as assigned.
