QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Currently enrolled at WTAMU (Classroom Management)
or
Currently enrolled in the Texas Tech 2+1 Program
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of assigned curriculum; knowledge of instructional methods
Lesson planning skills
Lesson presentation skills
Conflict resolution skills
Classroom management skills
Group interaction skills
Technology skills preferred
Work Conditions:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including keyboarding; reaching
Lifting: Lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds)
Environment: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional demeanor under stress; must be able to work flexible hours including summer and evening work; must wear professional attire

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Maintain a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school and county policies.
- Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Report to office upon arrival at school; checks mailbox of absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention; requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary.
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Implement lesson plans while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
- Collect and place students’ papers.
- Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place.
- Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies.
- Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school/division policies and practices.
- Participate in AISD Substitute Teacher staff development.
- Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
