PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Supply and deliver the bread products necessary for the daily menus in the school cafeterias.to the schools and the rest of the Amarillo School District,

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education/Certification:          

High School Diploma or GED is required

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Valid Texas Driver License and good driving record

Demonstrate the ability to drive and maneuver a delivery truck

A pre-employment physical is required at applicant's expense

effective verbal and written communication skills

 

Work Conditions:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; global positioning system                (GPS); small hand tools; light truck or van

Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; light keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing stairs, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting: Frequent heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over)
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Deliver bread products to assigned campuses.
  2. Pickup, deliver, and return empty bread racks to the Bake Shop.
  3. Help maintain the bakery by sweeping and cleaning.
  4. Keep vehicles clean and fueled and ready to go daily.
  5. At close of business hours, all windows and doors of vehicles will be closed and locked, and keys returned to office.
  6. Complete deliveries and return to the Bake Shop as promptly as possible.
  7. Keep all doors clear except during pickup and delivery.
  8. Vehicles will be parked in assigned parking.
  9. Operate gate lifts with diligent care and safety.
  10. Cross train in other duties as the opportunities arise.
  11. Accurately complete all paper work per instructions from supervisors with all required signatures.
  12. Check all pick tickets. If tickets are incorrect, bring back to Bake Shop and notify your supervisor
  13. Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and manner at all times.
  14. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  15. Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
  16. Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
