OPEN UNTIL FILLED
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, supervises crew’s work production for maintaining AISD
grounds in an appearance of excellence to include, but not limited to: mowing, trimming,
pick up of trash and watering.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education:
A high school diploma or GED, preferred
Certification / License:
Must possess a valid Driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of landscape maintenance preferred.
General knowledge of the Maintenance Department’s organization and operation preferred.
Ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.
General knowledge of various types of landscape maintenance equipment.
Ability to keep accurate records.
Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Capability of assessing safety conditions on site and able to take appropriate corrective action.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions, both day and night.
Frequent exposure to high noise levels.
Some to hazardous chemicals/fuels is required.
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds
of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to repair and/or move
equipment and objects.
Position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and
moving of objects.
Regular attendance is an essential function.
Minimum Experience:
Previous lawn maintenance experience preferred.
One year experience in a leadership role in related field experience preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Supervise assigned crews to perform manual labor in routine cleaning, mowing and watering of campuses.
- Provide truck and equipment security.
- Maintain tools and equipment, coordinate supplies and make recommendations for needed supplies and equipment.
- Perform daily inspection and cleaning of assigned equipment.
- Perform accurate recordkeeping associated with work orders.
- Identifies and reports major grounds maintenance issues to the Grounds Crew Leader.
- Aid in maintaining a proper watering schedule on all campuses
- Transport necessary equipment to various job sites.
- Assist with other duties, as assigned.
