PRIMARY PURPOSE:

        To provide each student with appropriate online learning activities and

        experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional,

        physical, and social growth via the Blackboard Learning Management system.

        The online teacher will guide students through a rigorous and comprehensive

        study of AISD Standards 2.0 in each content area so that each student

        successfully masters the TEKS in each online course.

QUALIFICATIONS:

        Minimum Education/Certification:     

                Bachelor's degree from accredited university

                Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned

                Online web instructor certification with required training and renewal

        Special Knowledge/Skills:

                Must have knowledge of core academic subject assigned

                Must have knowledge of curriculum and instruction

                Demonstrated competency in the face-to-face classroom

                Ability to instruct and manage students in an online setting

                Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

                Ability to use Blackboard Learning Management System

                Maintain the standards outlined in iNacol’s National Standards

        Work Conditions:

                Regular attendance is an essential function of this job

                Must be able to spend extended amounts of time at a computer

                keyboard and work station

                Must be able to dedicate after school hours, including weekends,

                to the online class

        Minimum Experience:

               Experience in online learning and/or instruction preferred but not required
